This work was inspired by my trip to France with a dear friend, Kathy Chambers, in the spring of 2010. Both being artists we were delighted with everything we saw and experienced—the museums, the people, the landscapes, the markets, the food. Together we shot over 3,000 digital images. Several of these images must be credited to Kathy.

The paintings cover a wide range of subject matter, including my favorites—cityscapes, food markets and foods on display—but I also became especially excited over our images of street scenes showing the French traveling to work, working and at play.
